In addition to her costumes and weapons, the changes to Harley’s character during Birds of Prey are also apparent in one big modification to her tattoos, recently revealed in behind-the-scenes footage for The Suicide Squad. The tattoo on Harley’s left shoulder blade, which previously read „property of Joker“ now reads „property of no one,“ reinforcing Harley’s newfound sense of self-confidence and identity following her break up from the Joker. In Birds of Prey, some of Harley’s other tattoos from Ayer’s Suicide Squad are also modified. In the opening sequence, she’s seen turning the „Puddin“ tattoo on her upper left thigh into one that reads, „Pudding cups.“ Plus, the word „Puddin“ is also crossed out in the „Harley + Puddin“ tattoo on her upper right thigh. Harley’s „Rotten“ tattoo on her right cheek is missing in Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad. More modifications to her Joker-related tattoos are sure to follow.
In Assault on Arkham, Waller attempted to have the Riddler assassinated, but he was rescued by Batman and put back in Arkham Asylum. Waller then decided to use the Suicide Squad to achieve her ends, which by this time was composed of Harley Quinn, KGBeast, Killer Frost, King Shark, Deadshot, Black Spider, and Captain Boomerang. She sent them on a mission to break into Arkham and recover a thumb-drive from the Riddler which contained secret information about Task Force X. When KGBeast attempted to walk out, the bomb implanted in his neck detonated, killing him. It is later revealed that Waller secretly gave Killer Frost a different objective, to kill the Riddler.
No Way Home’s release date isn’t until December, there has yet to be any footage from the movie released. Marvel and Sony did allow the main cast members to share a few first-look images though. The photos smartly kept the focus on Peter Parker, Michelle (Zendaya), and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), as the trio appear to be together on a new adventure. This makes sense after Spider-Man: Far From Home’s ending saw Spider-Man’s secret identity was revealed to the world. Now a new unofficial photo brings the trio back together but shows a beaten-up Spider-Man.
