Ways to reap the benefits of federal and state LED rebate programs in 2013

If you always thought that buying non LED lighting fixtures is cheaper than buying LED fixtures, think again. Not only are LED bulbs less expensive as compared to incandescent bulbs, but also qualify for LED rebates, further reducing its cost.

In the year 2012, the United States government offered highly attractive rebates on LED light bulbs in order to promote them. The incentives had however gone down by the end of the year, since the prices of LED light bulbs had gone further down. Does this mean that you could still benefit from purchasing LED light bulbs?

Apart from rebates for LED lighting, lights bearing the Energy Star logo such as artemide cadmo and the other artemide lampen [Dutch for lights] stand to be eligible for utility rebates. What’s more? LED lights are durable and last for more than twenty five times as long as incandescent light bulbs, indicating further savings on the replacement costs of ordinary light bulbs.

If you are still wondering whether you should consider switching over to LED light bulbs in case you have never used them before, be rest assured that they are not only safe, but also environmentally friendly and never emit any rays that could harm your skin unlike incandescent or halogen light bulbs.

Rebates on LED lighting systems depend on the type of LED being used. Accent lighting would for instance fetch you more rebates as compared to the other artemide lampen. artemide cadmo and the other artemide lampen including Artemide Cabildo, Artemide Castore and the like are accent lights. Downlight fixtures on the other hand fetch very little in terms of rebates as compared to canopy fixtures. So, you could select the lighting of your choice according to the amount offered as rebate. Other than rebate programs, the government offers bonuses and other schemes on the rebates.

So, how can you make the most of the LED rebate programs?

Some lighting companies offer you the bonuses on rebates provided by the government, even though they are not known to many yet. If the company of the LED lighting fixture you use does not provide any rebates, you should consider negotiating with the company in order to get a rebate. Sometimes, the rebates offered in one state for a particular fixture may not be offered in another. In such cases, you would need to select the fixtures that qualify for the maximum rebate.
