International Conference Offshore Wind Power Substations

Join us in Bremen from 28 – 30 August, 2012 for the only international event on substations for the offshore wind sector. IQPC’s International Conference Offshore Wind Power Substations will demonstrate new concepts and standards for smart substation design and grid connection and bring together international experts to discuss current challenges and possible solutions.

As the productivity of the wind farm completely depends on substations, increasing their reliability has top priority. Since substations will link a future supergrid, it is vital to evaluate new substation technologies like HVDC, for example.

Conference attendees will gain insight into innovative solutions for automation of operation and maintenance, evaluate ways for a cost-efficient transport and installation of substations and discuss international standards for substation design.

Presentations will center around following topics:

  • Smart designs for next generation substations
  • International standards for offshore wind power substations
  • Innovative technology for offshore wind power substations
  • Transport and installation challenges for offshore substations
  • Successful strategies for substation operation and maintenance

For interactive discussions, attendees may take part in our Workshop Day on 30 August 2012, to talk about following topics in more detail:

  • Advances in smart substation design
  • Optimising substation maintenance and repair
  • Oil and gas experience with offshore substations
  • Offshore substations for future grids

Experts from major industry players and research institutions will be onsite. Among them are RWE Innogy GmbH, ABB AG, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services GmbH, Det Norske Veritas A/S, Alstom Grid GmbH, EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH, CG Holdings Belgium N.V. and many more.
