(Photo:www.queenieaustralia.com)Most 22-year-olds of today are still trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives and have a vague vision of their future selves. DeOndra Morris does not fit that mold. She’s had a plan in place that has set the luxury handbag game on fire around the country.

DeOndra initially began working on her first handbag collection in 2012. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Morris graduated from Delta College Academy of Arts & Technology in 2013. Her business, “DeOndra Jereé”, was founded in October that same year which relocated her to New York.

For as long as she could remember, Morris has always wanted to have a career that has something to do with fashion. She has honed her skills to become a graphic design expert, which allows her to visualize styles in her mind and replicate them on a computer screen. She describes her abilities as natural.

The fashion prodigy got her foot in the door with her handbag collection but plans on expanding into clothing. Her 2014 fall collection is going well according to her and she is currently creating several pieces for 2015. She ventures to keep her prices affordable to relate to the everyday woman that she herself is.

Morris’s advice to “keep God first, be humble, and make a difference” stems from her upbringing. She credits her family “for supporting her since day one” and helping her run the business. They also imbedded a strong sense of empathy as she gives back to the community by working with the New York branch of KIDS (Kids In Distressed Situations).

Fashion trends can be fickle but the designer has developed a “thick skin” to deal with adversity. Unlike most of her generation, she is able to use constructive criticism to learn and improve in each step of her journey. Morris has not been afraid to explore her imagination to satisfy what she thinks the people want. She’s been mostly justified in her actions so far.

Looking to further expand her brand, working with retailers, and advancing her online presence, Morris has a full slate of projects to deal with this year. The entrepreneur is up for the challenge, though. She has built an impressed clientele that has grown steadily. Her drive should serve as a blueprint and message to the black youth interested in getting into fashion.Read more here:www.queenieaustralia.com/bridesmaid-dresses
