The Alexander Technique for Runners

Enhance your performance with the Alexander Technique, a unique method for improving your balance, posture and coordination.

In this two hour foundation workshop, which is suitable for all ages (over 15), abilities and levels of fitness, you will learn how the principles of the Technique can be applied to your running so that you feel lighter on your feet and move with more ease and efficiency.

 

The Alexander Technique (AT) works by helping you to identify and prevent the postural habits that may be the cause of unnecessary tension, stress and pain.  So it is ideal for helping you to become a better runner.

About us:

We are both keen runners and have been inspired by internationally acclaimed AT teacher and ‚Art of Running‘ coach, Malcolm Balk.

Lisa has been teaching the Alexander Technique for thirteen years and is passionate about using the AT to improve her pupils‘ and her own running and skiing.  She has been working with Malcolm Balk for the last 3 years.

Susie has been an Alexander Teacher for two years and has been developing her running technique skills with Malcolm Balk for over 12 years.  She has a Leadership in Running Fitness qualification is currently working towards her Coach in Running Fitness Award witha UK Athletics.
