Having finished several months of set-up and development the German based web platform Law in Africa has achieved to establish an international meeting-place and forum to bring forward the contacts and the legal exchange between African and European attorneys: Africa meets Europe.
Though a lot has been published during the last months dealing with the strengthening of the African continent: firsthand bilateral contacts as well as the practical implementation of trade and business are very often still difficult to be managed. The new web platform Law in Africa, under the supervision of Cologne based lawyer Nicolas Meyer, is providing information about the specific legal systems of the African countries and about existing contracts and conventions which have been signed in the past. Attorneys and solicitors who are based in one of the Sub-Saharan states can present themselves and their contact information with an individual profile.
Attorneys like Mr. Olufemi Tesilim Sunmonu (Nigeria), Mrs. Charlotte Twamba Andjelani (RD Congo), Mr. Hussein Kitta Mlinga (Tanzania), and Mr. A. Raffeek Sham (Mauritius) are already members of Law in Africa.
European members come from France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Finland and the Netherlands.
The platform enables selected African law firms and attorneys to present their range of services as well as European small and medium-sized businesses to get a global overview on the actual legal situation in the Sub-Sahara countries. “Our aim is to list attorneys from each Sub-Saharan country by mid next year”, concludes German attorney Nicolas Meyer his preview of 2015.
