The arcon glass company introduces unsurpassed optical perfection with innovative ‚topview‘ tempered glass.
Annoying anisotropy, also called double refraction, has long been a problem associated with tempered glass. When glass is treated with heat to improve its toughness and resistance to breakage, the internal redistribution of stress within the glass almost invariably results in unwanted visual distortion in the form of anisotropy. This distortion is more clearly seen from certain angles, in certain lighting conditions, or when glass is thicker. It has long been an industry practice to simply endure this unsightly and annoying anisotropic effect. However, with the introduction of arcon’s incredible new topview tempered glass, it is possible to see clearly only what the designer intends: the natural beauty of glass.
arcon topview glass http://arcon-glas.de/en/products/arcon-topview.html has been developed using cutting edge new process engineering which substantially reduces annoying anisotropy in tempered glass. Using this special patented process, arcon manufactures topview ESG (tempered safety glass), and topview TVG (heat-strengthened glass). Now, thanks to this innovative manufacturing process, the unwanted visual distortion due to anisotropy is so slight that the human eye doesn’t perceive it as bothersome.
New measuring techniques developed by arcon allow the manufacturer to quantitatively measure the isotropic value of tempered glass, and continue to develop verifiably superior tempered glass. Standard acceptable isotropy values in tempered glass available on the markets range from about 55% to 80%. arcon topview ESG and arcon topview TVG show a stunning isotropy value greater than 95%!
This incredible improvement in isotropy translates to a superior tempered glass which contains none of the distracting visual distortions designers and architects had begrudgingly endured. Now, with arcon topview ESG and arcon topview TVG, the possibilities for clear, beautiful tempered glass installations have dramatically improved. By effectively eliminating unsightly anisotropic distortion, arcon topview glass empowers planners and architects to incorporate glass as an essential and aesthetically pleasing component of modern architecture and design. Now tempered glass can be both durable and beautiful.
