So unless the screenwriters could come up with a clever way how to connect the world of Birds of Prey and the Harley Quinn films and form them into one coherent whole, it’d be best to just leave the sequel in the realm of possibilities.
As both Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey clearly proved, Harley Quinn works best when she’s interacting with other characters with personalities different from her own. Plus, DC has many amazing female villains film studios could use in a film, most notably Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and, of course, Harley herself.
Gotham City Sirens should offer the viewers the adventures of the most infamous DC female villains. Margot Robbie is the only confirmed cast member at this time, but as the film’s development will progress, the public will learn more about who will play their favorite villains. So far, it’s also known that Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who previously worked on Captain Marvel, should write the script.
The film Suicide Squad had its flaws, for example, less than impressive villains (can any of you remember whom the team actually fought in the film?) but it still was a funny and action-packed film with many memorable characters, most importantly Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
