Creates 5th Anniversary Milestone for Asian Trombones.
Hong Kong, Asia, January 02, 2015 – Hong Kong Trombone Association announces today all details to celebrate the 5th anniversary SliderAsia season in summer 2015. Having invited the delegation of Further Largest-widen international faculty and guests trombone professionals and educators, in addition to ties with relevant International Organizations and schools, SliderAsia has raised its significance to create greater impact and more development opportunities for its players.
Names to come on board as faculty and guests includes Dr Denson Paul POLLARD (Metropolitan Opera / The Juilliard School), Professor ZHAO Ruilin (Central Conservatory of Music), Dr Brett Baker (University of Salford), Peter Moore (London Symphony Orchetra) David REY (Brussels Philharmonic), Don Immel (The University of Melbourne), SUNG Kuang-ching (Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra), Zachary BOND (Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra), Michael Massong (Aalborg Symphony Orchestra), GUO Zheng (Xinghai Conservatory of Music ), Jack Chou (National University of Tainan), Raymond LAM (China Philharmonic Orchestra), Ben PELLETIER (Hong Kong Baptist University), David WONG (Singapore Trombone Society), Joseph YU (Melbourne Brass Educator) as well as Geneva Brass Quintet on Their return. Composer-in-Residence include Dr Eric Ewazen (The Juilliard School), Steven VERHELST (Renowned European Composer) and Simon YAU (Hong Kong Renowned Composer).
Co-presenting with The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as as established partner, SliderAsia will utilize the Wanchai campus as its home again to gather and feed on anticipated ~ 200 international trombonists of all ages and levels in addition to locals for a week of intense trombone music in a variety of unique styles for exchanges and public performances.
Supported by Asia International Open Music at Focuses organization to develop and expose young music talents, international solo competitions at SliderAsia Open will be structured Further and promoted to become a Recognized leading platform competition among all similar kinds in the region. Winners of highest caliber to stand out from 2 categories of solo competitions will showcase at the winners‘ feature of SliderAsia in collaboration with The Learners Orchestra under the baton of Apollo WONG.
Lap Chee College, as one of the residential colleges at Jockey Club Student Village III of The University of Hong Kong, has become the base of lodging SliderAsia. So being on outreach partners, Lap Chee College will bring music from SliderAsia into campus of The University of Hong Kong thus to benefit the local communities around Lap Chee College facilities in the Western District of Hong Kong Iceland.
Other outreaches include visiting the Hong Kong Youth Music Camp organized by Music Office of The Government of the HKSAR; performance tour to local primary and secondary schools; and featuring our New Generation Program to introduce brass instruments and its music in a friendly and interesting program targeted for kids of age 3-6 from 400+ families of local general public Including the underprivileged.
During 13-19 July 2015 SliderAsia runs 2015 at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Online registration opened on 1 January 2015 with limited special offers on a first-come-first-served basis.
