Placed under the patronage of the Office of the President, the event was organized in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in Mauritius, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The President of the Republic, Dr Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, told the press:
‘Whilst Pakistan has an Africa agenda, Mauritius also has a Central Asian agenda.
Mauritius is therefore aiming to leverage its diplomatic agenda and boost its manufacturing sector by not only looking at Pakistan’s domestic market but also using that country to act as hinterland to go to Central Asia’.
A Fashion show/cultural evening with the participation of top designer Nilofer Shahid was held on 21 October at the Sugar Beach Hotel.
Nilofer Shahid also known as The “Runway
Empress”, Pakistan’s finest legacy to fashion.
She is an artiste with a vision of creating sartorial masterpieces, blending creativity and craftsmanship.
She is acclaimed as the only designer who creates intensively researched collections based on art and history.
The forever artiste; Nilofer Shahid with her passion for pieces pays a humble tribute to the two greatest mystic poets of all time, Melvana Celaleddin-i-Rumi and Mureed-e-Hindi Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal.
Their teachings, guide a man gradually from the lowest level to the highest level where he is finally submerged in the ocean of divine attributes.
It is at this level that a man becomes spiritually elevated, understanding the self and submitting totally to the will of God, finally finding freedom from the worldly greed, captivity of time, worldly desires and drowning only in one’s inner self and love for God.
A sartorial depiction, inspired by the mystical journey of man’s spiritual ascent through mind and love to “Kemal”.
Turning towards the truth, deserting his ego finds the truth and arrives to the “perfect”.
As Rumi says:
“The perfect man is like roses.
If you pass beyond these shapes and deceptive forms,
Then you begin to see Rose gardens after Rose gardens!”
Pakistan believes that the Mauritian economy has a lot of useful lessons for Pakistan and through joint ventures and investments in each other’s countries the scope of progress can be further enhanced.Read more at:http://www.marieaustralia.com/formal-dresses-brisbane
