Goji Play Brings Interactive Gaming to the Gym

Need a creative way to get the kids off the couch and away from their video games? Looking for a clever way to spice up your own workouts? The solution to both of these problems may be to bring the high tech games to the gym. A cool workout tool called Goji Play makes it possible to do just that.

Goji Play was developed by the makers of Guitar Hero and Dance, Dance Revolution, games that your kids are probably familiar with. The system turns your workout into an interactive game. Exercisers at any level burn calories, get competitive and have fun in a wide range of different game settings. More info: lida daidaihua capsule

The system is exceptionally easy to use. Goji Play comes with two wireless controllers and an activity sensor. To view the game you supply your own smartphone or tablet. Then, simply attach the controllers your workout machine, clip the activity sensor to your body, choose a game on your tablet and begin to play. As you burn more calories and move faster on your machine, your game character moves faster in the game. You can use Goji Play on a treadmill, exercise bike, elliptical machine or stair stepper.

Game choices range from Super Moto X where you race motocross bikes, to Flying Hippo where you fly an animated hippo through obstacles. My favorite? Spin or Die where you become an urban cyclist and have to navigate city streets and dodge traffic to earn points. If you don’t love traditional games, you can play The Experiment, a brainteaser game or use the Goji Reader that allows you to catch up on the day’s news and stories.

For some people, the cost of the Goji Play may include more than just the gaming device. The system works through your tablet or smart phone so if you don’t have a compatible device then the cost of a new one needs to be considered before you invest. Currently, Goji Play is compatible with iPad 3 and above, iPad Mini, iPhone 4s and above, iPod Touch 5th Generation and iOS 6.1 or above. The company is working to make the game compatible with Android and older iOS models.

So which device works best? I tested my Goji Play with an iPhone 5. I was concerned that the small screen would be an issue but it wasn’t too bad. The graphics were clear enough that I could always see what was happening. I used the system most often, however, on a stationary bike so my upper body was stable. A larger tablet may work better on machines like an elliptical or treadmill where there is more movement in your upper body.

You can buy Goji Play online through the company’s website for $99 or Compare Prices on Amazon. Once you have the system, simply download games through iTunes to get started. Most games are free, but a few including APO Snow and Shine Runner cost less than a dollar. More info: lida daidaihua slimming capsule

Every family’s budget is different, but I think this tool is a good investment because everyone can use it – regardless of age, fitness level or interests. I am not a gamer. I’ve never like video games and I don’t usually have the patience to learn how to use the controllers or figure out the game. But I loved Goji Play. The games are easy to use and really fun. My workouts flew by and I found myself getting competitive in the games and working harder than I normally would. I also liked the fact that the system is small and easy to pack. I travelled with mine to make my hotel workouts more fun. I can’t promise that Goji Play will get your kids off the couch, but there’s a good chance that it will and you’ll have fun with the system as well.
