Die zertifizierte Personen-Notsignal-Anlage von Spectralink und tetronik bietet zuverlässigen Schutz für Alleinarbeiter

(Bracknell, UK) – July 16, 2019 – Spectralink, one of the global market leaders in enterprise mobility solutions, today announced that its Personal Distress Signal System (PNA), developed in partnership with tetronik GmbH, is certified by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) received. The personal emergency signal system DAKS-PNA P8SL fulfills all the requirements of the DGUV Rule 112-139 (formerly BGR 139) and offers a new, safe solution for the protection of lone workers. This is particularly important in high-risk environments such as petrochemical plants, high-voltage environments, heavy machinery, logistics and mental health departments.

Health and safety at work are strictly regulated in Germany and have to be high on the agenda of companies – especially when employing lone workers. For the DAKS-PNA P8SL system, leading alarm server technology from tetronik was combined with the renowned DECT mobile devices from Spectralink to create a secure and DGUV-compliant personal safety system in accordance with DIN VDE V 0825-1. This solution not only ensures the protection of lone workers, but also helps companies to comply with their statutory due diligence obligations towards their employees.

Personal alert systems are required to trigger and send alerts (willingly and automatically) when a lone worker gets into trouble. Part of the personal emergency signal system are the body-worn personal emergency signal devices with voice (PNG-S), which are used together with DAKS as a personal emergency signal receiving center (PNEZ). Especially the Spectralink DECT solutions offer first-class functionality, since both classic DECT base stations and DECT over IP base stations can be mixedly used within a DECT infrastructure. In this case, the particular location of a lone worker can be determined via the various distributed base stations.

The tetronik / Spectralink solution ensures with various features that an alarm can be triggered at any time. As soon as a personal emergency signal device has been removed from its charging station, it automatically sends a message to DAKS confirming the activation of the PNA. The device performs a self-test to verify basic functions such as sensor and emergency button. Subsequently, a message in the PSTN and on the device indicates that the PNA mode has been activated and the device is now being monitored.

If the device detects missing or certain movements, for example if it is in a horizontal position, an automatic alarm is started after a local pre-alarm and an acoustic locating tone is triggered on the device. This feature is very important because if a lone worker is unable to move the device or stop the pre-alarm, the automatic alert will provide immediate help.

In order for employers to be able to use their employees with DAKS-PNA P8SL in dangerous solitary workplaces with a clear conscience, the termination as well as the muting of an alarm is only possible by entering PIN codes. These built-in precautions prevent unknowingly compromising the safety of the device.

In addition, the connection between the personal emergency signal receiving center and the device is constantly checked. If the receiving center does not receive a signal from the device, an alarm is automatically triggered. At the same time, the connection loss is displayed on the device to inform the employee that he or the device is no longer being monitored.

Martin Praest, Business Development Director at Spectralink, comments: „It is advisable to not only meet the standards at the workplace, but to exceed them if possible. When operating in high-risk environments with heavy machinery, in power plants, and with chemical solutions – in any high-risk power plant – it is extremely important that these devices are monitored and that employees receive assistance as soon as a hazard arises. For this reason, we are very pleased that with tetronik we have been able to develop a solution that meets the strict requirements of the DGUV in order to ultimately ensure the safety of lone workers at the highest level. „

Alfred Faustmann of tetronik adds: „Our expertise and expertise in the use and operation of personal emergency signaling equipment combined with Spectralink’s expertise in enterprise mobility has made it possible to develop DAKS-PNA P8SL. This provides the lone worker with dependable security and helps turn a high-risk environment into a safety-focused workspace. The plant allows companies to fulfill their obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. „
