CSU-Global Announced Three New Degree Programs

Greenwood Village, CO, February 04, 2014 – Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu), the nation’s first independent, 100 percent online state university, is pleased to announce it will begin offering three new fully accredited academic programs in its 2014 Spring Trimester. The new Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics, Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, and Master of Human Resource Management programs are designed for working adults looking to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their careers.

„As with all of our programs, these degrees were created based on workplace needs and market demand,“ stated Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, Colorado State University-Global Campus President. „Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems are both fields that are expected to have significant career growth within the next few years. Earning a degree from a state university that employers recognize as a high-quality institution will open students up to a great number of new opportunities in these job areas.“

The Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics focuses on the use of data to meet organizational objectives and achieve competitive advantages through metrics-based decision making. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of Computer Systems Analysts will increase by 22 percent, the number of Management Analysts will increase by 22 percent, and the number of Database Administrators will increase by 31 percent by 2020, all of which are faster than average job growth.

The Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management focuses on the value of people. Leadership topics are designed to help HR professionals effectively manage employee issues as well as hire, train, and retain staff members who contribute to organizational success. The Master of Human Resource Management provides students with the advanced staff development and administration skills necessary for today’s complex organizations including techniques for improving team dynamics, performance expectations, motivation, and strategic planning for operational efficiency. The BLS reports Human Resource Specialist job opportunities will increase 21 percent and Human Resource Manager job opportunities will increase 13 percent by 2022.

„The curriculum in these programs provides knowledge and skills aligned with industry best practices and provides students with the practical information they need to be successful in these fields,“ continued Dr. Takeda-Tinker. „And importantly for our adult learners, in addition to what they learn in the classroom, our students gain access to career resources and student support services that can help them take their professions to the next level.“
