It’s that time of the year again, where India’s most talented designers came out with a visual treat of their latest collections for all of the fashion world to see! Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week(WLIFW) set ablaze the media with designers showcasing and setting the latest trends. This year also brought some interesting change, with designers experimenting and reinventing their styles. Not only did WLIFW showcase hot new trends but you also got to see the Indian fashion world take stage design a notch higher with designers like Rajesh Pratap Singh flaunting an ethereal winter world full of leaves and snowflakes.
The fashion week started with Masaba Gupta opening the show with her refreshingly unique collection full of neons, quirky prints and varied silhouettes! We also saw Anupama Dayal‘s collection striped in monochromatic colours with dashes of neon and bold patterns transforming the chiffon sari to one of this years hottest trend! Staying true to his style, Vineet Bahl once again brought us a regal collection inspired by the Mughal era Anarkalis, translated through white fabrics with chikankari embroidery and gota work!
Kiran Uttam Ghosh‘s grand-esque collection was painted in shades of red and crimson, with hints of green and gold, beautifully folded into one another. A shade lighter, designer duo Dhruv and Pallavi showcased a line of evening ensembles in soft tones of pinks and reds, speckled with diamantés, sarees and more.
One of bollywood fashion week’s highlight has to be Manish Arora‘s return after a hiatus of four years. His collection stayed true to the brand and showcased a riot of colours on futuristic silhouettes. And leaving a lasting impression on the fashion fraternity was none other that Ritu Kumar with her opulent collection inspired from Art Deco, put together to create a contemporary collection with rich embroidery and deep tones.
Trends to keep from WLIFW:
– Reds, crimsons and pinks! This Autumn/Winter isn’t afraid to play with colour! You can wear these colours as accents or go bold with the colour trend.
– No one can resist the big bindi and it’s back bigger this season! We suggest take it a notch smaller but make sure you’re wearing it this season.
– Monochromatic is here to stay, morphing itself into bold checks and even bolder stripes.
– You can’t go a season without flowers and this year heavily embroidered and colourful florals are here to stay. Mix and match them for chic boho look.
– Printed leggings take center stage this season, from geometric prints to floral ones, pick your choice!
– Checks are back for the men, especially in muted shades in tweed or brushed cotton.
– Neon refuses to leave, and stays on for Autumn/Winter as playful hints to pastel or white garments.
– The geometric Aztec trend also stays put, and its a forerunner this season!
We have to wait till next year to find out what’s more in store – we are inspired with Bollywood Sarees, Lehenga Cholis, Beatuiful Anaraklis and the western-indian fusion dresses. Aren’t you?Read more at:plus size formal dresses | long formal dresses
