Following the success of the first run-of-mine (Rom) sampling
system installed by Multotec Process Equipment (MPE) at Impala
Platinum mineral processing, an additional multistage sampling
system has been installed at Impala UG2.
Claimed to be unique in its horizontal layout, the new sampling
plant facilitates easier and greater accessibility to the large
items of mechanical equipment that are an integral part of the
 process.
With sufficient space available, the decisionchinese aggregate crusher suppliers was made to use the
horizontal format with three distinct and separate structures for
 the sampling plant.
This facilitated less complex steelwork support with eashow crusher plant worksier access
and maintenance when compared to a vertical free-standing tower
arrangement, explains MPE product manager Rolf Steinhaus. It will
also enable cost-effective additions to the system if requiredused red rhino crushers sale in
 future.
Comprising three single-storey structures joined together by
conventional enclosed miniconveyors, the new Rom sampling system
also incorporates a control room with a supervisory controlsmall jaw glass crusher and
data acquisition control system facilitating better management and
 accountability of the entire process.
Designed, installed and commissioned by MPE on a near-turnkey
project basis, the systemcoal crushers in india operates using double-stage impact
crushing and single-division step to achieve the nominal
 minus-15-mm sample.
The solids density of the material sampled is high at around 3,6
t/m3 and requires a carefully designed freewheel coupling
 arrangement on the primary sampler.
In order to cope with the large material, the Multotec hammer
sampler cutter has a width of 500 mm and yields a primary sample of
 156 kg on average.
Sample cuts are taken at a frequency of six minutes or less.
The large primary hammer sampler achieves automatic sampling from a
moving 1 350-mm-wide conveyor belt without interrupting the
 downstream metallurgical plant process.
The presence of tramp or other foreign material and oversize rock
is also recognised and its potential hazard circumvented.
These multistage sample stations are designed to achieve the
correct final sample mass at the required sample increment
frequency within a given time period.
Sample material as fine as 15 mm or better can be produced.
