Focus on renewing current Zambian contracts

Explosives supplier BME says that it is focusing on renewing its current contracts in Zambia by providing sustainable and reliable tailor-made services to the mining industry.

“BME supplies various mines in Zambia, some with full blasting and down-the- hole services. The company also supplies various parties who do not require fixed-term contracts,” says BME marketing and international business manager Charles Hurly.
The company supplies the Kansanshi copper minecomparison cone and jaw crusher, the Chibuluma copper and cobalt mine, the Konkola copper mine and several quarries, besides other mining concerns.

“The project scope for these mines includes the supply of emulsions, relatedcosting method of crusher plant products accessories and associated technical services. The contracts run on a fixed- term basis that range from one to five years,” he explains.

BME confronts this challenge through consistent client interaction and focused engagement to produce improvements on any audits that are performed. Zambia is politically stable, accessible by road and an English-speaking country, which made it attractive for BME. The country is also investor friendly,” says Hurly.

BME’s strategic long-term aim is to be the first-choice supplier of explosives and related technical services to the mining industry in Zambia. The company’s growth strategy includes offering value- added services to its existing and new customers by providing high-quality products and technical services by qualified, motivated and passionate employees. Further, BME also strives to align itself by establishing partnership agreements and relationships, says Hurly.
