Breathing new life into gold processing

Equipment manufacturer Intaka Tech’s oxygen gspecblock flow diagram tanneryification for crusher planteneration plant is meeting the needs of the South African mining industry leaching process application.

The oxygen generation plant enables the mining industry to increase recovery in its separation process by up to 99,7%. The plant easily and effectively enables the introduction of oxygen, taken directly from the air, into slurry leaching and cyanide decontamination systems, and provides an ongoing oxygen flow to gold processing leaching tanks. This enables improved gold recovery, as well as reduced cyanlooking for 300 ton of stoneide and waste treatment costs.

The oxygen generation plant is portable and allows oxygen to be delivered on site and on demand. This ends oxygen purchases in cylinders or bulk liquid form, which is expensive, relies on external transport and supply, and can be hazardous.

The oxygen plant is economical, as the user only pays for the quantity and purity of oxygen needed. The atmospheric source is limitless and free, which means immense costs savings and return on investment. An investment in an Intaka Tech oxygen generation plant can pay for itself in months, as the equipment can result in an 80% reduction in the customer facility cost of oxygen. The plants average only 1,2 KW to 1,6 KW, depending on the model selected, of electricity for every kilogram of oxygen produced.

High levels of dissolved oxygen are essen- tial to the gold-mining industry’s leaching process, as the increase in the dissolved oxygen level in gold-bearing slurry boosts the gold cyanidation process.

Using pressure swing absorption technology, the Intaka Tech oxygen plant separates particular gas species from a mixture of gases under pressure, according to the species’ molecular characteristics and affinity for an absorbent material.

It is easy to use, has a quick installation and start-up time, and can be operated and maintained without extensive technical knowl- edge and training. A liquid crystal display touch screen allows easy access to oxygen purity and pressure information. A global system for a mobile communication modem facilitates the connection between the instal- lation and a remote screen for monitoring per- formance and/or resetting the alarm remotely through short message service.

The Intaka Tech oxygen generation plant is reliable, built to provide years of continuous trouble-free operation, and is particularly safe. It is housed inside a steel container, protecting it from the general environment, and providing it with a stable location, which makes it particularly durable.

The leading-edge Intaka Tech oxygen generation plant is making an impact on the South African market and its neighbouring countries in a broad range of industries. Apart from being suitable for a large range of industries, it is also suitable for certain niche industry applications, one of these being gold processing.

Intaka Tech holds the intellectual property, or patents and trademarks, for all its equipment throughout Africa. The oxygen generation plant is a self-generating, port- able, robust plant that is manufactured on site at Intaka Tech’s leading-edge manufacturing facility in Cape Town. It is then transported to the customer’s location, where it is ready to be used as soon as it is connected to the piping system.

The company has been operating in Africa for four years, and has over 200 units in operation in Africa. All Intaka Tech’s equipment is backed by the company’s comprehensive after-sales support network.
