Hamburg, January 28, 2013 – Moisture and density measurement systems can be used wherever mass and moisture have to be measured. In the pharmaceutical industry, the tobacco industry, the food industry and in the coffee-, paper- and wood industries, precise measurement results are the basis for a one-hundred percent monitoring. The patented TEWS measurement method by TEWS Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG is based on the principle of microwave technology offering fast and precise measurement results.
Manfred and André Tews and Tim Richter managing directors of the company, know how important precise measurement results are for certain analyses and adaptation of pharmaceuticals, food and consumer goods. „With the TEWS method for moisture measurement, patented and developed by us, it is possible to record and display several dozen or even several thousand measured values per second. This makes once complicated measurement methods and calculations unnecessary“, Manfred Tews is convinced.
With the microwave resonance method, a weak microwave field is generated by the sensor, which has a characteristic resonance for the sensor. By filling or covering the sensor with a product, the position and strength of the resonance can be influenced.
André Tews is convinced that the industry will make use of the many advantages of this new method: „The TEWS method for moisture and density measurement does not only offer high measuring accuracy and is extremely easy to use, it is also suitable for using online.“ Manfred Tews adds „Since the measurement is independent of optical influences, the measurement results are always 100% exact. In addition, our measurement devices do not have to be serviced“. Nevertheless for technical questions, a competent consulting team is always available by telephone and email.
The TEWS Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG was founded at the end of the 70s by Manfred Tews in Hamburg. Initially, computer technology was produced here. Then 10 years later, the company specialized itself on the development and production of density-independent moisture measurement devices, which operate on the basis of microwave resonance technology. Today the patented microwave resonance method is used in process- as well as in laboratory applications in many industries. The range of services is being constantly expanded and now offers, with the new fourth generation devices, moisture measurement devices which are characterized by software that can be used intuitively.
