Purple is powerful

And does.

Because in our community purple is not a fashion statement, rather it is an overt and celebrated commitment to caring about those amongst us who need a hand from time to time for reasons beyond their control.

Purple was being proudly worn down the main street, in our schoolyards, on the golf course and wildly at random by people of all shapes and sizes, ages and genders and standings in life.

All in the name of The Gift – a community focus of which our town can feel justifiably proud and which is the envy of many surrounding communities.

The Purple Weekend, the pinnacle of the annual program, was again a triumph and again drew a lot of people to town to join in the occasion with the Vintage Engine and Machinery Rally and White Truck Muster.

As founder Liz Dillon says, every chance she gets, The Gift helps local people with cancer and that’s why it is incredibly important.

And it is.

Cancer is an illness that will touch nearly every one of us in one way or another – from actual diagnosis to a loved one, close friend or neighbour.

So in the end supporting The Gift means you are supporting your nearest and dearest. Maybe not this year, or next, but inevitably someone within your inner circle will be caught up and that’s when the discreet input of The Gift can make such a difference.

Most regional communities know how to kick the can when someone is hurt, down on their luck or the victim of fire or bad accident.

But that generosity also requires an enthusiastic organiser to drive the campaign.

With The Gift everyone knows the drill, everyone does what they can to get on board, and the program is running 12 months of the year.

That’s what makes Kyabram so different. Total care and total support whenever it is needed.Read more at:yellow formal dresses | purple formal dresses
