Participants from 17 nations excited by lectures and W+D machine demonstrations

Neuwied, June 21, 2018 — From June 13-14, 2018, Winkler+Dünnebier GmbH (W+D) hosted the second Direct Mail Days in Neuwied, welcoming 40 percent more visitors than last year. 140 participants from 17 nations – many Eastern European and Asian countries, including Japan, among them for the first time – were excited with the event. W+D also announced the first sale of the new W+D Halm i-Jet digital printing machine for overprinting envelopes.

A total of seven excellent presentations full of facts and new ideas highlighted the enormous potential of high-quality cross-media direct mailings and their design potential. W+D machine systems on display also demonstrated the practical implementation possibilities of innovative applications for envelope finishing.

Interest in the W+D machines was high. The W+D 410 Easy Enveloper can emboss envelopes and delivers a high two-color print quality with an integrated flexo printing module ranging from sophisticated motifs to full-surface gradients. When overprinting finished envelopes, the latest W+D Halm i-Jet in four-color digital logo printing achieves excellent results and is ideal for variable print data. The W+D TIprint inkjet printing module can assign variable data of an insert on the connected inserting system W+D BB700 S2 to the recipient using a code and print the corresponding image and text features inline in four colors on the envelope, achieving very complex 1:1 personalization.

Direct Mail Days was also not short on networking. “Despite an extensive program, we have given our customers and exhibitors enough time to exchange ideas. So it was an extremely successful event for all sides, and we’ll certainly be holding it again next year,” says Frank Eichhorn, Managing Director of W+D. In addition to FEPE, companies such as Stora Enso, Doneck Network, Eukalin, Henkel, Irplast, Multiplastics and UPM participated as sponsors. More information at www.direct-mail-days.com.
