contextflow selected for Philips HealthWorks AI in Radiology Accelerator

Deep learning expert contextflow GmbH thrilled to announce its participation in highly-selective program with one of the world’s leading health innovation companies

Vienna, Austria, December 5th 2018 – contextflow, a recognized name in the highly competitive field of AI in medical image processing, is one of only 19 startups from 14 countries invited to participate in a 12-week “AI in Healthcare” startup-accelerator program spearheaded by Philips HealthWorks, a global leader in health technology. The course is designed to speed up the development of the company in a short period of time. Over 750 international startups applied for the opportunity, and contextflow is honored to be amongst the select few chosen to gain access to Philips’ expert ecosystem.

The accelerator’s theme centers around the application of AI-based clinical support tools for radiology, ultrasound and oncology. contextflow provides an AI-powered 3D image search engine to radiologists, enabling them to quickly find visually similar cases and reference information, saving time and money. From all applications the Vienna-based firm is the only startup to have applied that has developed technology for a general image-based search that allows radiologists to search for disease patterns, right now focusing on Lung CT scans and extending to new organs and modalities in the near future. Thus, contextflow is a perfect fit for Philips’ program currently underway in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

The program’s aim is to validate participants’ value propositions, clarify business concepts and develop partnerships for possible future collaboration. Companies gain feedback from leading experts in their fields, and Philips gains insight into the challenges of AI in healthcare startups and use cases. The accelerator closes with a “Breakthrough Day” featuring final pitches on December 12.
