Certification of eUICCs – The Ticket for the GSMA eSIM Ecosystem
Thanks to the GlobalPlatform qualification of COMPRION eUICC Consumer Devices card tests, test labs and card manufacturers are able to certify their eUICCs for the GSMA eSIM ecosystem. To become part of the closed GSMA eSIM ecosystem, all applicants – meaning eSIMs, servers, and devices – must prove that they meet the GSMA requirements. “This ensures that the individual players authorize each other as ‘interlocutors’ and that they are able to communicate,“ explains Dr. Frank Oberhokamp, Product Manager eUICC Consumer Devices Test Solutions at COMPRION. The GSMA as “gatekeeper” of the eSIM ecosystem requires the potential participants to certify their products. “For the eUICC manufacturers, this means that they must pass the required tests of the GlobalPlatform Card Compliance Program successfully,“ according to Oberhokamp.   Test labs and eUICC manufacturers themselves must use a test solution qualified by GlobalPlatform. COMPRION has received this qualification during the last GlobalPlatform TestFest on ...

Simplifying the Analysis of Analog Signals
New software with preset measurements according to ISO, NFC Forum, and EMVCo norms requires only minimal training effort COMPRION has launched a new postprocessing software for easily visualizing, measuring, analyzing, and sharing analog signals. As the only software of its kind, COMPRION has integrated so-called quick measurements. Instead of configuring measurements manually, the user can analyze the analog signals with preset configurations compliant to EMVCo, NFC Forum, and ISO. Quick measurements are usually only available as part of complex test tools with an integrated oscilloscope. Now the feature comes as a stand-alone software solution. “Thus, there is no need for spending a lot of time learning. Pretty much everyone can do the analysis with minimal training effort,” points out Swantje Missfeldt, Product Manager at COMPRION. Deviating analog signals often evoke communication failures. “Especially contactless transactions are error-prone to metallic parts disturbing the magnetic field or to suboptimal positions of antennas,” ...
