Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) jetzt offen für neue Mitglieder
Unternehmen können durch ihre Mitgliedschaft in diesem Forum die Entwicklung des Standards aktiv mitgestalten. Abhängig vom gewünschten Umfang der Beteiligung können die Unternehmen zwischen verschiedenen Mitgliedschaftsstufen wählen: Vollmitglied, unterstützendes Mitglied oder Anwender. Den ONVIF-Mitgliedern werden die für die Entwicklung kompatibler Produkte erforderlichen Werkzeuge und Dokumente zur Verfügung gestellt. Sie sind zudem auch zur Verwendung des ONVIF-Logos berechtigt. Die Rechte und Vorteile, die eine Mitgliedschaft mit sich bringt, werden in der Mitgliedschaftsvereinbarung erläutert, die auf der Webseite des Forums unter www.onvif.org heruntergeladen werden kann.
ONVIF ist auf der Security 2008 in Essen vom 7. bis 10. Oktober mit einem eigenen Stand (GA-134) vertreten. Vertreter des Forums präsentieren am Messestand erste Beispiele für Interoperabilität basierend auf dem Rahmenwerk des Standards. Der ONVIF-Standard definiert Plug-and-Watch-Systeme und umfasst Gerätemanagement, Echtzeitanzeige, Schwenk/Neige/Zoom-Steuerung, Metadaten-Streaming, Konfiguration sowie Umgang mit Ereignissen. Er setzt die modernste Technologie der IT-Branche ein. Eine technische Kurzbeschreibung des Standards ist am Messestand erhältlich.
Das Forum plant ein erstes Treffen für Mitglieder und Interessenten Anfang Dezember 2008. Auf dieser Veranstaltung sollen unter anderem die Aktivitäten des Forums, die Mitgliedschaftsoptionen und die technische Zielsetzung vorgestellt werden.
